由於全球經濟不景氣的衝擊，紐約廣告節經多次討論評估，最後決定取消今年預計於1/29
舉辦的Filmand Video Awards Gala 和1/30舉辦的TV Programming and Promotion AwardsGala。

這是一個困難的決定，但即便取消了頒獎典禮的活動，主辦單位將以極大的誠意和努力，
讓得獎作品於紐約廣告節官網以嶄新和極富創意的方式刊登和播放。
並使得獎作品能獲得最大的曝光，不會因為取消這個活動而受到任何影響。

I am writing to you today to advise you of a change in plans that will affect 
the New York Festivals Film and Video Awards Gala, along with the 
TV Programming and Promotion Awards Galas. As you are all aware 
the global economy is going through a difficult period of transition.
Due to the current economic situation, we are canceling the Film and Video
Awards Gala on January 29th and the TV Programming and Promotion
Awards Gala on January 30th.This was not an easy decision, but one
that needed to be made. Our CEO, Jim Smyth, and NYF President,
Michael O’Rourke, along with our management team spent the last few
weeks evaluating every detail and came to the conclusion that this
precautionary move is a wise decision during this poor economic
climate. After numerous in depth discussions with our international
client base, they have also confirmed that travel budgets have been
severely reduced as a result of these economic times. 

At International Awards Group (New York Festivals), we are making
every effort to develop new ways to announce the winning entries of
both competitions. We will also dedicate our efforts to showcase
our winners on our website in new and exciting ways, and increase
our award winners’ exposure through a concentrated marketing
effort, an increased public relations reach and strategic
partnerships. It is our intention to continue to promote our award
winners in a seamless manner, unaffected by the cancellation of our
events. Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any
